I've made a replacement case for the Interface 1 for a project. Fits the PCB fine with all holes etc... in the same place.

This looks great, I've always liked the IF1 design, could be useful for DIY interfaces too
Re: Replacement Case for Interface 1
That's a really nice piece of work, Tom, great job.
I was thinking about making something similar to house my recreated ZX Spectrum Expansion System project, but there was a problem I couldn't see an easy answer to: the PCB for a project which is housed in such a case obviously needs an edge connector for it to plug into the back of the Spectrum, but is it not the case that such a connector needs to be bent at an angle to match the new rake of the Spectrum? e.g. if the Spectrum is tilted at an angle of 20 degrees, in order for the PCB in the IF1 case to sit flat, the edge connector on the PCB needs to be bent upwards at an angle of 20 degrees?
Do you have a reliable way of making such an adjustment on the edge connector? Have you actually got a PCB sitting in it?

Re: Replacement Case for Interface 1
Yes it does have a PCB in it but it is an original issue 4 so the connector is already in place. I have thought about how to solve this for a custom IF1 PCB like yours. I think an edge connector with right angle pins would work soldered to a small PCB to attach a ribbon cable or wires which then joins to the base PCB. I've got some of them to try outdfzx wrote: ↑Thu Feb 22, 2024 10:14 am That's a really nice piece of work, Tom, great job.
