Even more impressive than its predecessor.

FM2 is probably the computer game that I have spent more hours of my life into ...

I used to play with a cousin of mine trying to make a solid team and to promote and win the championship.

I was literally hooked into this game. A timeless classic for me ... This said, I prefer the Pc version.

All good things must come to a sequel so it was almost inevitable that Kevin Toms would follow up on his masterpiece.
Everything's a lot more slicker this time around as the whole thing was written in machine code. The match highlights have returned but this time you get to see the whole pitch and not just the goal mouth action. These highlights are also the game's undoing because while some matches are over fairly quickly some drag on for what seems like hours. It's a shame really because in many ways this is a better game than it's predecessor. However, because of the (seemingly) never ending matches playing through a season can be a tough slog. For this reason the original Football Manager will always be preferable.
Football Manager 2 is still one of the better management games on the spectrum and is well worth checking out.

As time went on this sequel had to improve its look on the original. Football Manager gets away with its primitive look because of 1982 but there was no way the sequel would. So predictably there is a complete overhaul, in the interface, the squad selection screen and the match highlights. While the match highlights are among the very best in a football management game, the interface consists of entirely no menus, instead everything is thrown at you such as selling and buying players and extra training. The player selection squad though is the major gripe, it isn't straightforward and kind of confusing actually. But overall it is another great football manager game. Better than the original though? Part of me says yes and part of me says no.

While lacking some charm from the original it's still a very worthy sequel and an excellent management game in its own right.
