Reviews for Halaga (#2206)

Review by Stack on 26 Jan 2015 (Rating: 2)

Its not like Galaga sadly, or even much like Galaxians, though it resembles that more.
There are plenty of speedy swirly aliens - it looks a proper prospect, but the waves very quickly lack variation, the game is flickery and the challenge misbalanced.

Uninspiring and hard as hell ! ! ! !

1,5 out of 5 .

This actually doesn't look bad, it has a good overall presentation, and it's surely a challenge. The swarms of aliens whirl faster than a spit in a tornado [I thought the emulator was set wrong!], and their laser falls down quicker than the ruble these days. Could be almost good, but the difficulty is not well balanced.

A very poor clone of the arcade shoot 'em up Galaga. It's hard to hit enemy crafts or flies or whatever they are and it's easy to get shot even without noticing. The sprite detection is very badly done, so firing is almost random.

Can we guess what this is? I bet you can just from reading the title, yes it's Space Invaders! Oh wait the other one. Yes, it's a clone of Galaga and it's fricking appalling. It's got chunky graphics which is quite nice except they cause considerable slowdown, but despite this their bullets seem to be unaffected by the slowdown and will hit you at rapid speed even when you have no time to react to avoid them. What also doesn't help is you can die immediately after respawn. I have yet to clear the first screen and never will because I no longer care for it, this is tripe and it may even be the worse Galaxa/Galaxian game I have ever played.
