Re: Escape from EXODRON
All itch page comments deleted and the MK1 logo removed from the game entirely and only seen on the inlay. Mojon Twins had posted very polite comments, considering the circunstances: https://i.ibb.co/HNJDyPx/comments1.png Instead of answering, these posts were simply deleted (along with other peopl...

Re: Escape from EXODRON
GOOD NEWS! This game is now back online, after the author took all received complaints seriously! Because of this, the new loading screen doesn't have any similarity whatsoever with redballoon 's game title logo: https://i.ibb.co/K6V4VSq/load-trax.png https://i.ibb.co/2Y95KdR/load.png The story pres...

Re: Escape from EXODRON
There has to be something just a little weird about anyone who chooses to make games for a computer that came out 42 years ago. We're all a little quirky, to say the least. Perhaps some of us really like to create games, but don't have enough time to work on larger projects for modern platforms. An...

Re: Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy no longer available
True. Many of us had actually paid a hundred odd quid for the stuff he prevented distribution of. That's not my understanding of what happened. However I would rather avoid this discussion since none of us have all the facts... I hope someday an investigative reporter (Stu?) will dive in-depth into...

Re: mandelbrot drawing CPU benchmark
That's the file I indicated in my first post.
You could have mentioned you were not interested in this file, when you asked for the improved version of this file!

Re: Manic Miner/Jet Set Willy no longer available
Elite (Steve Wilcox) is the reason these files are no longer available.
Let's be fair. AFAIK Paul Andrews never prevented free distribution of anything.

Re: Escape from EXODRON
I can't help but think it's a stylistic choice rather than anything ungentlemanly. A stylistic choice doesn't make a lot of sense, considering that "Mojon Twins" was erased from an area of the screen that was simply left empty. Even so, I also think it was a (long!) series of bad decision...

Re: mandelbrot drawing CPU benchmark
Youtube channel The Retro Desk created a mandelbrot drawing program that they have used to benchmark the CPU performance of various (modern) retro computer platforms. More like a benchmark of someone's programming skills in various retro computer platforms :) For instance here: https://github.com/S...

Re: Escape from EXODRON
well i see that some of the MKx games do not have any logos nor mention mojons in the title pic and there's at least one (and relatively recent) game that looks like does not have these at all: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/37275/ZX-Spectrum/RetroQuest_II_Las_Torres_de_la_Desesperación AFAI...

I just noticed something weird. These are examples of MK1 logo in other games: https://i.ibb.co/1MYN4tB/Alien-Girl.png https://i.ibb.co/1rk34j2/Coloco.png https://i.ibb.co/KLZKKLr/Pirate-Captain-Creed.png https://i.ibb.co/fty3Fbh/TheCult.png Now compare with this: https://i.ibb.co/VWwjHC9/Exodron.pn...

Re: Robot Messiah loading screen - spot the difference
Probably reversed it because they wanted Alphabatim in the bottom right corner (probs so the end of the m forms part of the border... colour change to yellow is a bit crap though) and they'd have to erase the debris on that side if they didn't flip it. They also cleaned up the title text and the bo...

I'm now correcting the Jackson Soft Oro Spectrum references.

If added, is there a precedent for such things @Einar Saukas? Yes there are lots of precedent, mostly inherited from Martijn's WoS. For instance: https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/entry/8116/ZX-Spectrum/DLAN It doesn't make sense to preserve "bootleg" copies that someone recorded at home (a...

Re: Little bugs in the database 6
Information about the game Blue Max looks like being processed (diagonal screen scrolling). But it is not displayed in the game's info page. https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/zxdb/add/public/history_detail_old.php?fn=%23004014_597_change_sql.txt It's processed and it was included in the last ZXDB rel...
