Re: NEXT Update
Hm - the ZX Spectrum Next *is* the reason I returned to the "ZX Spectrum scene" in 2017! Meanwhile I have my old Issue 2 48K working again, have a (in Germany more or less in-existent) Toastrack and some more Speccy-related stuff. And I think I'm not the only one who were kickstarted to ha...

Re: Showcasing my graphics
...It's the disrespect that really gets me. Sure, I could just ignore opinions on the internet, but it's not so easy. I mean, I pretty much abandoned the German retro scene entirely due to their ignorance of the Speccy ... thank God for SC ;) What sometimes isn't respected as well is the thing call...

Re: The most disappointing hardware for the ZX Spectrum?
Not for me, I was really happy to get high speed storage (relative to tape) at a low price. Same here. While other (with way more financial possibilities than me) bought a really expensive OpusDiscovery (i.e.) I could "only" afford the ZX Spectrum Expansion System (later added a Multiface...

Re: Did Anyone Ever Use Any Of The Non Game Making Utilities Available
Oh, indeed I did not *always* play games on the Speccy. While my comrades (with more cash) slowly migrated to the so-called 16Bit machines and explored the creative (and "business like") side of the software world there I tried to do what could be done with 48K, 8Bit and ZX Microdrives. :-...

Re: Games on itch.io - how much are you prepared to pay?
Monitoring my own activity on itch.io, I conclude that the price range 2.99 - 3.99 GBP is a no-brainer, while (i.e.) beginning at 8.99 upwards I often do not hit the download/pay button immediately.

Re: Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS
Another question: Could you please add "2browse file manager for esxDOS" .2browse https://spectrumcomputing.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?p=82141#p82141 into your download-package of "Long Filename Browser for ZX-UNO / esxDOS" or do you want to keep this separate? To be honest, I'm...

Re: Did you own a rubber key model, if yes, did you upgrade it and if so how?
Our first ZX Spectrum was a 48k rubber key model. I upgraded by buying a dk’tronics keyboard. In this topic , a number of members mention that they upgraded their machines. In most cases, they mean that a new computer was obtained (either brand new or ore-owned). But my questions are, did anyone he...

Re: Did you get your Spectrum at the right time?
For the me answer is: Yes! After a short time with my first computer (ZX81 1k model) from summer to winter 1983 I soon got my ZX Spectrum 16k (Issue 2). It was a time here in Germany when the Commodore 64 had not yet reached the popularity it would have later. Sales wise the Speccy were 2nd place af...

Re: Divmmc Future and Next?
But if you want to use the IF1's serial, yes, you will need a power supply module and that applies to both KS1 and KS2 machines. It is not available now and I am hoping the community will be the one that provides it but if not we will probably do a reference design and interest someone in making th...

Re: Divmmc Future and Next?
... Instead, optional aftermarket modules will appear that can be mounted on the pcb with supply wires soldered to holes on the relevant expansion bus pins to provide +12V and 12VAC if these are wanted. Such a module for 12V only is already sold by a third party for KS1 machines... Just for the rec...

Re: Modern methods of saving BASIC programs
Is it possible to save from divmmc as a pure .bas file (text file), rather than saving as .tap? I'm mostly working on a PC myself but sometimes I make on the fly modifications directly on the device. Starting to wonder if it would be any easier to use my Spectrum Next instead? Of course you can sav...

Very nice idea and proof-of-concept. Would be interesting to see whether this could be easily "ported" NextZXOS, which is rather similar to +3/+3e but with 28 Mhz!

Re: Who still uses original hardware
Here a ZX Spectrum+ 128K and a ZX Spectrum Next Acc. are fully operational and on stand-by. Maybe I'm a little bit strange, but using a ZX Spectrum emulator is not really convenient: 1. Clean up the desk 2. Roll over to the cupboard, where my Windows 10 laptop collects dust 3. Carry it over to the d...

Re: New WoS and ZXDB
Tons of historical and useful technical information on its forums. It’s a goldmine. Erm, in theory: yes. Practically: no. I'm a semi-fresh resurrected ZX Spectrum user - kickstarted back to Sinclair in 2017 with the Kickstarter project you-know-which-one. While waiting for the ZX Spectrum Next to b...

Re: New WoS and ZXDB
Yep, this actually works. I've used it yesterday to suggest a country change for myself, and admin have changed it. Ah, ok. That makes sense. So they want us to bring WoS DB to ZXDB 2020 state. May last some months/years, but it's not impossible. Especially when you copy and paste stuff from Spectr...
