Re: Atic-Atac Isometric Version
I’d love to get the 128k version out at the same time, but as I’m always playing catch-up to the lead PC version it’s doubtful. I have made a promise that it’ll be available for the Speccy’s 40th at the latest

What price Ultimate’s Collected Works for +3
What’s the going rate for the +3 disc version of Ultimate’s Collected Works box set? I’ve got one to sell, but no idea of its value. It’s in great condition, with poster & hint sheet, but the discs are untested (I no longer have a +3 to test them on, and it’s really not worth me buying one just ...

8bit (and QL) books for sale…
I’ve put 10 books on eBay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/bob-tmh/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from= - as part of having a clear out. They’re mostly Spectrum related. This is part of a larger sale I’m having, which will include hardware (boxed toastrack) software (Ultimate PTG tapes and ROM...

Re: What would be easier for a first ever attempt at Assembly programming
You have to write something you’re interested in, otherwise it’ll be too much of a chore and it’ll gather dust. Aside from that write anything you like! All types of game have their own pros & cons. Personally I always find Tetris to be a good starter though. And don’t get too bogged down on try...

Re: Modern Retro Games for The ZX Spectrum
Good luck with your store. Personally I have found there’s a trade-off between wanting people to play your games, and wanting to people to pay for them. With all my games on Itch I have the stats that point to only 1 in 50 people paying for a download, and usually then choosing the lowest price poin...

Re: Changes to Homebrew games
How usual is it for homebrew games to have changes not authorised by the author? I ask as I've just updated my ZX Uno to the link here: https://zxuno.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=4142&sid=093f1e5275c72b8e2f8cda5499be56b9 In the post there's an img with lots of games, including my Bob The ...

Re: Handling and representing a 3-bytes number (in ASSEMBLER)
The thing with BCD is that it easily copes with any number of digits, and the drawing speed is fast and constant.

Re: Handling and representing a 3-bytes number (in ASSEMBLER)
Try using Binary Coded Decimal for scores and any other high-value numbers. They are fast to display, and easy to add to - so great for scores.

Re: Copyright for spectrum games
Every one of my conversions to the ZX81 or Spectrum has been done with the full blessing of the original author/rights holder, and has been better for it. The fact that Andy Sum admired my version of Crossy Road, that Sandy White helped with my conversion of Ant Attack (and so on). What continues to...

...and I love a lot of Bob's stuff but mainly the 2D games like Virus/ Pandemic, Domin8tr1s, Rebound, Ubend and Boulder Logic/Miner Man. The "stunt coding" like Ant Attack and ZXAgon are amazingly impressive feats but I don't find them much fun to actually play... He he... “stunt coding”....

Re: A new data compressor called ZX0
Does the ZX0 decompressor (I’m testing the ‘mega’ version at the moment) provide a register-pair or address which can be read to find the number of bytes that have been written during the decompression, or alternatively the final address written to? After execution, use DEC DE to get the final addr...

Re: Atic-Atac Isometric Version
Nice work! Promise I won't tell anyone at Microsoft that some of their sprites are in there. :D Thanks! The authors of the PC version contacted Rare near the start of the project, and they’re fully onboard with what we’re doing. I thought the graphics were amazing, and then I saw the underground se...

Re: Atic-Atac Isometric Version
The current plan is that the game will be released for free. I think it would be a steal at £5! Thank you! However, I believe there is an agreement in place with Rare regarding profit, given how this is very much Atic Atac, and we want to be respectful to all the right holders. (You’d need to ask t...

If there will be colour version for ATM-Turbo 2/ZX Evo/Pentagon 2.666LE, it will certainly take the 1st prize at the Your Game 6. Do the authors know? I can’t speak for Kev (author of the Spectrum Next version) but there is unfortunately no way an extension of my 128k version of the game for the ma...
