Re: ROTW units shipping soon

I've been checking my email all morning today, then suddenly towards midday, I got a text message that looked like spam. After almost ignoring it, the word "SPECNEXT LTD" stood out in the message and there it was! Then another text message arrived for the machine I ordered for my brother. ...

Re: Spacman 3 (Sinclair Programs, March 1983)

Thanks for your replies, Einar Saukas . It was helpful. All the type-ins from Sinclair Programs Issue 10, August 1983 are now available. It includes all Spectrum and ZX-81 type-ins. I took whatever was available on Jim Grimwood's TTFn site, tested, checked for bugs, typos e.t.c. and made corrections...

Re: Spacman 3 (Sinclair Programs, March 1983)

TAP only. Decades ago, many people preferred snapshots because they were more "convenient". But there's no reason anymore, since every emulator supports TAP/TZX with fast loading now. Thanks Einar Saukas . For ZX-81 titles, are .p files the preferred way to go? How about running screens f...

According to this video, it does work. I do not have a Next yet but I went ahead and purchased one anyway to use when my Next arrives.

Re: Spacman 3 (Sinclair Programs, March 1983)

1-min later... I've just realised it was uploaded at Jim Grimwood's site...  well, it doesn't really matter. It was worth messing around with BASIC type-ins from magazines again. Don't worry - I did the same thing with Hang Out The Washing! some time ago. It didn't bother me because...

Grongy wrote: Wed Jan 03, 2024 8:47 pm Thanks a lot! As for the crashes - I suppose you used a version 1.0, which was buggy, yeah. Version 1.1 never crashed on me; you should try that, if that happens again on 1.1, we can fix it with your help!
Cool, thanks @Grongy . I'll get version 1.1 and try it.

Re: Pacman

I think Marco's and your Spekku-Man must be the best Pacman games on the Speccy. Wow, another great Pac-man remake! Thanks for pointing it out @R-Tape. This one slipped past my radar and I have to agree with you that these two are the best Pac-man games on the Speccy. However I did encounter a cras...

Re: ROTW units shipping soon

When I saw the subject line, I got all excited thinking that the units were about to be shipped. Like you SkoolKid , I'm also waiting eagerly for the remaining KS2 units to ship as I live in the US. Also like you, I have a birthday in January (mid Jan) so maybe it'll arrive in time if I'm lucky. If ...

Re: Cursed Castle

Fun game this one. The controls feel good and the difficulty level feels just right, at least for me. Like Ralf, I also couldn't get the kempston option to work. It responds, but your character hops around randomly and the controls move him around unpredictably. This was using SpecEmu emulator. I tr...

Re: Turdle ZX

Is that a genuine request for a TRD file or just the fact that TRD is only one letter away from TuRD? :D :D Yup, it's just a silly request I did on a whim because of the TRD file extension. But in all seriousness, I do think that if there's any game that deserves a TAP to TRD conversion, this one w...
