Can’t find the menu for QAOP
Can’t find the menu for QAOP
When using Torinak QAOP on an iPhone via Safari, how do you reach the menu? The command is F9, but the supplied virtual keyboard has no F9.
Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
No ideas about phone use, as such. But with QAOP on PC, I just click anywhere outside of the Speccy screen area to bring up the menu.
Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
Unfortunately, there is no area beyond the screen to click on the phone version. You can see the menu for a few milliseconds as it loads up, the red writing, then the simulated screen takes up the whole area.
Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
On my Android phone, I just rotate the screen and that gives you a black area that you can just touch on to bring up the menu.
In my browser, I can also click on the black area underneath the QAOP virtual keyboard.

It’s strange, but neither of those things work on iPhone. I’ve tried both Safari and Chrome.
This is like playing an old speccy text adventure
>GET MENU

Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
I’ve never used it before, but on my iPad in portrait mode double tap on the left edge of the main area for the menu, and on the right for a file browser(? Not sure what it is). It appears to be similar in landscape, but I get less predictable results (I have some luck with a long press on the left edge to bring up both menus together)
Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
It’s frustrating. I’m getting nothing with those techniques on the iPhone.
Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
On iPhone in portrait I get some success double-tapping the top section to pause the emulation, and then double-tapping in the middle of the lower section to produce the menu. Again, very hit and-miss.
Also try long-tapping in the middle of the lower section. I find that works every second time - the first producing a Safari zoom window, but giving the emulator focus(?)

Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
None of that is working for me. What version of iOS are you on?
Re: Can’t find the menu for QAOP
I’m stuck on 12.5 with an old device. Maybe that’s my problem. If you do two quick taps on the QAOP virtual keyboard on iPhone does it zoom in like crazy and make it unplayable?
