I need to remind myself of how to use my Next before I try Jim's, but Van_Dammesque's version isn't too shabby as a compact piece of code. And it doesn't exit to BASIC when you hit the edge, so points lost there...
I'm only reviewing another Etch a sketch game if it includes the peripheral I describe in my review 😎😂😂

I used to have a magic board and I got one for my kid a few years ago.
You could start a side-contest with etch-a-sketch clones.

Don't worry for the non-game entries.
Using the same development techniques as the award winning "Universe Conquest", I created an entry that will bring unlimited* gaming to the contest!

I just have to make a loading screen and it will be ready to be thrown to your mailbox! Also, I know you all still waiting the sequel of the "Real adventures of Cookie man". This also need an intro screen and will be ready too.

*For practical reasons I'll have to limit the unlimited gaming of my entry.

How about if it's for a completely different machine that very definitely isn't a Next, or a Spectrum, or a ZX81...
Spectribution: Dr. Jim's Sinclair computing pages.
Features my own programs, modified type-ins, RZXs, character sets & UDGs, and QL type-ins... so far!

All of this talk of Etch-a-Sketch, and we're just ignoring this?
That's 30 years in the cubes, Creeps.

It better have the Jolly Green Giant in, that's all I'm saying.

I don't know what you have heard about Horace's tax affairs. I can only tell you he answers all questions from HRMC.

Edge-A-Sketch coming right up!
Ok. This is too much! The quality of this contest is in danger with these non-game entries!
As always "Firelord Quality Games" must and will fix this!
If you feel lucky you can try the unlimited gaming fun of my next entry!
For the next 356 years of your life you will be able to play a new game each day!

Now the ZX Spectrum can say that it has the most games than any other device!

Fire Lord Quality Games to the rescue!!!!!

I now have a few non EAS items in my inbox.

Definitely @Kweepa s game deserves a look, it is a GAME and has some quality.

Which, as if I haven't got enough on my plate rn, has inspired me to to this...

Image

Which is a port to the z88 of Oregon Trail. Fully playable and I'm currently finessing it. Maybe a release in next year's Comp since I can't enter my own competition. That would be like being investigated by HRMC while I was it's boss! Such things could never happen in a free and uncorrupted country such as ours.

I got an embarrassing 9 out of 36.

Round 3 is like a Speccy 'Answer Smash' from House of Games. I'm going to tell Richard Osman.

Just played: score 28/36.
(I wrote it less than a week ago, and needed hints for most of the anagrams...)

Spectriv 17 also had an 'Answer Smash' type round, and that was released in 2014, three years before House of Games first aired. (It was 'borrowed' from NPR's Ask Me Another. (I had to look up the origin of the game on that other forum, and noticed that you (Morkin) got 21/36 last time!)).

Cripes, did I?? Shows how much I remember...

Makes me think - I wonder if anyone turned up on Mastermind with the specialist subject of "ZX Spectrum games of the 1980s"? Pretty sure someone's already done one on Clive Sinclair before.
