Reviews for Word Games with the Mr. Men (#11435)

Turns out there was a Mr. Men game I missed, this too is from Mirrorsoft but was developed by Widgit Software responsible for my last review Quick Thinking. There are two sides to this, side A has various games related to Mr. Funny, Mr. Silly and Mr. Noisy. Firstly, we can see what the Mr. Men are up to, which serves as a tutorial more than anything, then you can read, write and decide what they are. Then we've more and most, first identifying the next one to smelly, which in this case smellier, and then most being the most of it, smelliest, ok I'm lying it was small, smaller and smallest but I changed it to smell for hilarity, and no-one laughed and then this site will probably crash for another 12 weeks and thus no-one will read it anyway, gee, that was worth it! Anyway, I'm rambling, we've next got right or wrong is where the game will ask you if you can see a particular Mr. Men, e.g. a small Mr. Silly, either answer yes or no, opposites where you pick two word that are opposite to each other from a choice of words, high and low being opposites, and then the last one is basically typing a sequence of words from what you've learned up to this point to make them appear, like Mr. Noisy is fat, which is rude but they implemented the design here and not me, so there. Side B is all about Mr. Bounce, we can see where he goes which again serves as the tutorial, then read and write where he goes, see where he goes next and then help him find food, which is the most amusing one of the lot and yet I can't get it to work, flaming typical. I think personally if they had left it as Side A and done away with Side B then it would be a novel game, not great but at least acceptable for the younger players to enjoy, but they've tried to add a Side B to the game and it brings it all down. It's certainly no better than First Steps with the Mr. Men but is at least a more competent game compared to Here and There with the Mr. Men. But after this, hopefully that is the end of the Mr. Men for me because I am now sick of seeing them.
