Gauntlet in isometric 3D. And guess what? It works!

And then there were three...
The last Gauntlet released for the Spectrum, and a swell conversion. This plays a bit differently than the original Gauntlet, mostly because of the 3D view. It's very well made, slightly different from the original isometric first developed by Ultimate or even seen in Ant Attack, this is another level, it's the 90's. The 3D view adds more dept to the game, and removing the squared edges makes it look more natural. The eerie athmosphere always present in every Gauntlet game is enhanced perfectly, even in monochrome colors. You don't get to fight so many nasty things at once like you did in the first game, but the action is still chaotic, and requires a bit of nerve. Turning a perfect 2D game into a 3D could have been a disaster, but it functions perfectly. An awesome conversion of an awesome game.

What an underrated gem.

This game, made in 1990, is the pinnacle product of zx spectrum gaming endustry.

As soon as game opens, the legends, follin brothers greets us with a music with ultimate quality.

Not only music, every aspect of the game is very polished.

It's not an important improvement as a part of gauntlet series. The problem is the concept is so high for zx spectrum hardware. But listen:
I met with this game after I played both diablo I and II, and my total suprise, I can easily say that this game is very close to the spirit of diablo. I mean the game aged very well. I played and managed to pass many levels and enjoyed it very much to this day. Only If this game had a tiny litle bit of rpg elements in it, then it would be a masterpiece.

it's a must have for every spectrum user, for all the qualities.

True, this game looks to age better than others.
The view of the action is so interesting, not true isometric. A true delight, no doubt. And the mechanics of the action.
Everything fits so well
