Reviews for Gryzor (#2159)
A fast paced action scrolling shoot em' up game where you could run, shoot and somersault your way over obstacles. Very good.

Great conversion from Konami's smash coin-op arcade hit. Also known as Contra in the Commodore 64.
Your job is to destroy the Alien Rebel's headquarters and overcome the fanatical guerrillas as you make your way towards their base.
The game is full of action and is packed with 3 different types of levels and a total of 6 to play, if I'm not mistaken. It starts of with a very good side scrolling level and then evolves to different levels approaches, such as the Op. Wolf scene (sort of).
The gameplay is excellent, it's really enjoyable shooting the nasties out of the way.
There are lots of nice surprises along the game, like the destruction of the enemy base and a few others.
The first level starts up easy, too easy for my taste, but overall the game isn't really that hard, so I think this is its biggest letdown.
A really well polished and very appealing, specially to those who love action shot-em-up's.
A very good conversion of the Konami run-and-gun coin-op. On the 128K you also get great tunes and sound effects. Graphics are pretty basic and a bit prone to flicker sometimes, but that's a minor annoyance considering how well the conversion has been put together. Well done.

Very nice arcade conversion, in terms of greatness it just shaves over the crossbar but it's still good fun.

Good conversion of Contra. The game shows a nice job from developers.. having to program three game styles in one title, for sure is a headache for a coder.
Graphics look more appealing at Speccy than horrible brown-purple of Konami's coin-op.
It does the job fairly good. Just the game itsnt very inspired. This game would've benefitted with more stages and a game mode specific for home systems. But that wasn't common at those years in industry ( unlike at 90es console conversions. )
Pretty cool multi-level shoot'em up, with various approaches used, playability and very good 128k music.
