Reviews for NARC (#3360)

One of the most visually impressive and blatantly violent arcade games gets the rugged ZX Spectrum treatment. This one I had back in the game...and it never worked...drat! So I missed out big time, but now I've been able to finally get the chance to play this, and while it lacks the obvious it's actually good fun. It's pretty faithful to the original, they've been able to replicate some of its features which is nice.

So NARC, while not the best conversion on the Spectrum, is a faithful conversion in its own right.

Nice arcade conversion. Plays really well and is very favourable to the original arcade game's look, style and gameplay.

NARC as an arcade game was visually stunning but the gameplay was a bit too much for me, nothing to do with the drugs and all, but too much was happening at once and it was hard for me to keep up with it. The Speccy version is no different even with the reduced speed as bullets comes flying at you from all directions. It isn't typically a bad game nor is it a bad conversion, it just doesn't match my tastes nor does it particularly interest me.

NARC [Ocean Software, 1990] #ZXSpectrum A Crash Smash with 95%, that then received 31% from Your Sinclair when re-released as a budget, this game is a sheer bloodbath. Not even in Commando or Ikari Warrios I had to kill so many people. A very educational game.
