Reviews for Night Hunter (#3421)

The most remarkable aspect of this game is its eerie atmosphere ... in this case you play the role of two different classic monsters or demons : dracula and werewolf , and you must collect several keys and other magical objects while you avoid policemen with pistols loaded with silver bullets , nuns , priests , and even witches on their flying brooms ,,,

The scenery reminds me a lot of The Rocky Horror Picture Show with its cold stones , hidden doors , sleepwalkers , etc.

Not as good as it seems , but not bad either ,,,

Ps - the count dracula in the loading screen reminds me of Bryan Ferry from Roxy Music ,,, isnĀ“t it scary ?? lol . my best regards to mr. bryan . most distinguished voice in the world of music .

With this game we take a bite at life as a vampire! And not just any old sucker, but Dracula himself! He's on a mission to gather up some old parchments and thwart Van Helsing's plan to put him into a daisy-pushing position for good.....

These parchments are lying around all over the place, and taking control of our old bloody...sorry...buddy...you'll have to find various keys and objects to help find them all.

Trying to put a stop to this are various helpers of Van Helsing. Well, I say trying to put a stop to it....the men will come along and give you a punch in the face every now and again, but the women just seem to run around not doing much at all really. Still, they all provide a rather handy source of blood and health for Drac at least!

Not like the witches who are flying around all over the place...no, they seem to have something against vampires and will also bash you around a bit. Luckily, being a vampire has other perks which come in handy, and the ability to change into a bat or a werewolf for a short time helps you avoid these hags and also the various pits and holes which also litter the landscape. It takes a while to work out how best to use these other forms though, and I spent a good deal of time falling through holes and getting confused to begin with.

Once you get used to it though, the game is really quite enjoyable! Nothing startling by any means, but it's nice to play as the baddie every once in a while! Worth a go as something a bit different, then!

Got to say it, but dandyboy is right, Bryan Ferry as Dracula on the loading screen is something that once you see it you can't unsee it. It looked promising with the lovely detailed, though colourless, loading screen and the charming music to go with it, but it's too bad the game itself doesn't match my hopes. It's reminiscent of Ghost Hunters but you seem to just wonder around looking for keys, or at least from what I played anyway, which doesn't appeal to me. I do like that you can change to a bat and wolf, but it doesn't save the game from being a bore. Also when you die you start all over again, which is always annoying. It is a shame that this didn't live up to my hopes. I guess I'll just be better off staring at the loading screen for 10 minutes rather than play this game for 10 minutes.

Time to suck some blood.
It's pretty good once you learn how to control your character and how to use his transformations.
Also, it's got nice details, like the women pointing their crucifix at you, or the way you suck the blood of the people until they wither and become just bones falling to the ground.
Crash Smash (91%).

well, it looks like the trend here has finally become to critic any vampire/horror creature-themed software.

Now let's go with this pretty lovely albeit relatively unknown title.
On the negative side it's 1 bit colored.
But it has some details that make up for that:
You have the most lovely mouse roaming the floors since Back to Skool. You have the ability to turn yourself into flying vampire. You have the ability to turn yourself into the most charming werewolf since Knight Lore. You have flying witches.
You have pretty animations of every character (highlighting as some noted the death sequence of your victims whose blood was sucked)
You have even a decent upstairs/downstairs animation movement, reminiscent, by the way, to another one that will be revised next review: the one from Vampire's Empire.

...Pity that there's no sound in some emulators, or due to be 128 you can't play in the 48/+. Not to speak, the quick loss in addiction once you discover those funny actions and details.
These, and some other setbacks, somehow sentence this otherwise good title.
