Reviews for Piggy (#3708)

1988 Bug-Byte (UK)
by Peter Watson

Someone remembered to make a game about one of the three little pigs, the smart one, who built a wolf home-proof.
Unfortunately the game isn't that smart.
For 1988, almost everything in the game is outdated, the UDG graphics format, sound, objective and the Manic Miner meets Atic Atac style game. Also the game is very hard and unfair in places and with a few bugs that turn the difficulty even higher.
Pick up all the items you need to build your home.

Your average 1983's maze game, only it was released in 1988 and it's harder. Bug Byte probably found this tape inside some old and forgotten cardboard box.

For this to be released commercially in 1988 is astonishing. Everything is 1984 and not even good. It's poorly programmed and dreadfully difficulty. How Bug-Byte thought this would be a good game to market in 1988 alongside Robocop, Target Renegade and Treasure Island Dizzy I'll never know.
