Reviews for Rifle Range (#4146)

I didn't enjoy this one as much as Quackers in all honesty. It just seems more tedious and lacks the charm and excitement the Quackers had. Perhaps I'm just being fussy though.

It's still a nice Carnival clone all the same and well worth your time, but I just prefer Quackers which was probably Carnival at it's best on the ZX Spectrum.

The only satisfaction I had from this game is being arrested for murdering the stall holder. Probably it was aimed at a younger audience.
2/5

I never could quite get into Carnival (and clones) games because they always seems to me like a cheap twisted version of Space Invaders.
Rifle Range is an OK game though, with a nice presentation and adequate game speed. The bonus screens are OK too.
But it's too easy and a tad boring, unlike the less atractive Quackers. More than half of the time I just stand in the same position and shoot bullets intervaled by the coming targets. And if those pesty red squirels didn't drop their nuts onto me (excuse me?!), I would just stand quietly without tinkering using the fire key.

The biggest challenge of the game is to wisely use your ammo stock and try not to destroy the prizes at the top of the shelfs, which if you do it will discounted score and end the game.

If you enjoy fun-fairs you cannot miss this one ! ! ! Shoot for the prizes and don´t miss the target ! ! ! Quite fun ! ! ! This time ugly graphics don´t spoil the diversion . . . 3 / 5 .

It's not bad, could have been better I suppose but it provided some enjoyment for what it was.

A boring shooting gallery arcade simulator inspired by the ancient Carnival coin-op, with simplistic and flickery graphics. It has definitely aged badly.
A novelty feature is that you can shoot the stall holder, killing him and being arrested by the police, thus ending the game. How could you kill someone with a shooting gallery gun is something beyond my understanding possibilities, however boredom was so high that I ended up doing that instead of carrying on shooting badly drawn squirrels and ducks.
