Reviews for West Bank (#5664)

This game was a Spanish superproduction back in the day , and a good one .

The game has dated gracefully and it is still playable nowadays .

Feel like John Wayne for a while , if not a long while ...

I used to play this one a lot and really liked it, but never knew the existence of the arcade version, so I went looking for the emulated file, and I must say that the Spectrum version, even with some elements of the original missing, is really quite good, I dare say even better. A simple idea, but very engaging.
Overall a very good conversion.

Dangerously addictive underhand shoot'em up of sorts.

Addictive reactions testing shootout game, slick and well implemented.

West Bank is gameplay at its most primordial. Shoot or don't shoot. Kill or be killed. Try not to twitch and kill an innocent.

West Bank really comes into its own in high score competition.

Superb conversion of the original arcade 'Bank Panic'. A shooter that tests your reflexes. You're a bank teller and there are twelve doors, behind them different people, shoot them or let them get in, all in microseconds. Once you know all the people, it's an addictive thing. Brilliant graphics, sounds and gameplay. One of the best Dinamic games.

This is based on the Sega arcade game Bank Panic, which is a pretty good arcade game, but sadly this doesn't play as well as the arcade version did. It can be good fun indeed but this version is very confusing in that I had a hard time determining which doors I was facing, something that wasn't a problem in the arcade version. It ain't bad really, but I didn't enjoy this as much as I hoped I would.
