It's Ariolasoft's Panzadrome sequel and it show, the difference is that in Panzadrome you were a little tank on an island, while in Xarq you're a water vehicle trying to destroy or penetrate the defense of an island. Also, the're a software house change, being released through Electric Dreams, and as most of Electric Dreams games of 1986 [except for Spindizzy] Xarq doesn't succeed. It's too hard, quite a disappointment for a Panzadrome fan as this reviewer.

My initial game lasted about five seconds before I died. That alone sums up this game. It's way too fast and way too difficult. At least when you shoot something it doesn't block your path which is refreshing, but you just have almost no control whatsoever because it's so bloody fast. I was really hoping this would be a more enjoyable experience than Panzadrome but it was quite the opposite in many ways.

More or less the same as Panzadrome, nice colourful graphics let down by shoddy gameplay, only this game was way less enjoyable than Panzadrome.
