You play the oriental martial arts champ Oolong trying to become a grandmaster in the ancient art of Kung Fu.
As would be expected, Oolong as to fight and win a variety of opponents, each deadlier than the last.

The game is not as good as Exploding Fist, but still delivers great fighting scenes and plenty of beat 'em up action. I always loved the cartoonish style of the characters, which are kind of weird but fun and original at the same time. One of my most loved games on the spectrum!

A bloody marvelous game !! The cahracters are varied as so are the movements . Cutely designed.

It is still quite playable nowadays and it has a lot of action. The monochrome setting is well designed .

If Yie Ar Kung-Fu is not the best martial arts game for the Spectrum it must be at the top 3.

5 / 5 .

Superb fighting game on par with International Karate and Way of the Exploding Fist as well as its arcade counterpart. It also has a separate 128K version that's even better.

I always enjoyed this game, even if the controls are quite difficult, but they are easer here than in the arcade version. The 128K version has great sound but is so much easier while the 48K original is as challenging as the arcade original. Thankfully both lived up to my expectations.

Potentially a great game but like so many in the genre you don't need much more than one button mashing move on repeat in order to win, a shame given the clever animation of Oolong
