Reviews for Tornado ECR (#9441)

Highly colourful and very fast shmup from Codemasters. The aim is to shoot down the target number of enemy planes to advance, it's very tricky however, the enemies fire as much bullets as you do and it's hard to shoot and avoid their bullets as they fire pretty much the same time as you do.

Still this is highly colourful and very fast....wait I just said that! It wasn't bad for the cheap really.

Fun, colorful no-nonsense mindless horizontally scrolling blaster where you can control three different aircraft against a whole lot of historical opponents.

Not the most original or outstanding title in its class, but for its price it's a deal.

Awful is too gentle an adjective to qualify this aberration . This sort of games can only appeal to disturbed teenage minds , really .

The path is too fast , the graphics are too big , the bullets are far too many ... I insist : this game is disturbing in the worst sense of the word .

Disturbing and puerile in a disgraceful sense . out-dated , pretentious , unplayable . down there with the worst releases ever for the speccy . in fact I bet this ill collection of bytes was programmed by a person who hated the Spectrum and Sir Clive Sinclair .

A program only apt for frustrated executives who were not allowed into the army . the targets are so huge that it is almost impossible to miss a shot so ,,, where is the fun side of this ??

If I had a behated neighbour or relative I would present him with this game .

0 out of 0 .

ps - SQIJ! is a work of fine art compared to this .

Dont know if I hate this one or love it. Its atractive when you first try it. Big planes, with splashes of colours everywhere and its smooth enough to enjoy. But soon becames desencouraging. You die really fast. There are lots of things happening at once. Bullets and bombs flying everywhere, enourmous planes coming when you least except them, big clouds that spoil your moves, etc. and dying seems unavoidable.
But all of this also makes the game really chalenging once you get the hang of it. In each level you have a certain amount of enemy planes to destroy and at in end of each, you must face the "boss". A bigger and powerful plane. The levels are small enough to keep you interesting and rewarded, thus making the game continue compelling, that is, of course, if you are patient enough to keep practicing it.
You can always think of this as the '1942' side view version plus the giant planes.
